John Hanke, CEO of Niantic, recently confirmed in an interview with Taiwanese magazine Business Weekly that Generation III Pokemon will soon be launched for "Pokemon GO."

"There is a lot of Pokémon that have not yet been launched. So I think the next secret weapon will be launch of the next Pokémon generation. I hope the players will soon see them," Hanke shared in the interview.

With Gen III ghost-type Pokemon appearing in this year's Halloween event, fans of the game already knew that Shuppet, Banette, Mega Banette, Duskull, Dusclpos, and Sableye will soon be followed by their batch mates from "Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire."

The third generation houses 135 new Pokemon spearheaded by dragon-types such as Altaria, Latias, Latios, Flygon, and Rayquaza. The cute electric-type Pokemon Plusle and Minun are also part of Gen III. Trainers looking for some more steel-type Pokemon should watch out for Mawile, Aron, Lairon, and Aggron. Fire-type trainers will have a blast catching Torchic, Combusken, and Blaziken.

A video clip published in Comicbook showing a real-world imagining of the game where a level 21 player named Leonard, captured a Pokemon and then earned one of the new gym badges. The video went on showing other players engaged in Pokemon battles. The next scene shows a Legendary Raid Invitation that will be happening in the neighborhood. An entire street is filled by players teaming up to defeat the legendary Pokemon.

Hanke also said that since new Pokemon are coming, a new battle system needs to be implemented. This new game feature, however, is still in its early stages but the Dev team will be sure to release it in 2018.

Gen III Pokemon is known to house powerful Pokemon, so there will be a need for players to coordinate their raids better. Niantic is also currently developing a feature that will address this future issue.
