Niantic made some changes to "Pokémon GO" recently via a new update. It basically tweaked the game's medals screen, with added support language. Interestingly, the studio also removed a certain attack animation, something that the developers did not really announce.

According to WWG, the latest "Pokémon GO" update removed the animation called Bullet Punch. It is basically a Steel-type move that has been in the game since day one. It is even considered as one of the most interesting animations.

Whenever a creature uses the move, a set of actual bullet holes tends to appear around the defending pocket monster. The original animation is quite quick, but one can certainly see the said holes surfacing. Apparently, over the course of months, players have been complaining about the animation being a bit disturbing.

As such, Niantic made some significant changes to it. When a "Pokémon GO" player uses it now, the opposing Pokémon will instead receive a flurry of punches. It seems the studio thought of the punches being a more applicable animation compared to the bullet holes. It is also worth noting that the new animation did not necessarily end up in the in-battle captions as well as the texts.

The aforesaid "Pokémon GO" attack has not changed, as it still offers the same amount of damage and attack speed. Basically, the developers just removed its previous animation in the hope of resolving the issue that players previously complained about.

In related "Pokémon GO" news, Daily Star reports that Niantic has just increased the drop rates of every evolution item in the game. This is definitely great news, as these items are quite difficult to acquire. These items are basically there for players to evolve their second-generation creatures.

The increased drop rates refer to players getting the evolution items when spinning a seven-day streak. Although it is possible to do so without following the said streak, the chances of acquiring these items are very low.
