The "Pokémon GO" phenomenon has already taken the world by storm, but Nintendo has yet to release its official accessory, the Pokémon GO Plus.

Nintendo was supposed to release the wearable device in late July, but the expected release had to be delayed to make sure that the device will meet all the players' expectations.

On Twitter, Nintendo of America revealed that the new release date of Pokémon GO Plus wearable device will be in September. However, the game developer has yet to announce the exact release date.

"The delay is due to the preparations for the Pokémon GO application update in order to optimize Pokémon GO Plus," a Nintendo representative said in a statement shared by Polygon. "In order for us to offer new experiences to play Pokémon GO with Pokémon GO Plus with a quality level high enough to satisfy as many people as possible, we decided that it is necessary to take enough time for the completion. We ask for your understanding."

The Pokémon GO Plus is a tiny wearable device that is made to be paired with a smartphone using Bluetooth technology. It will allow users to catch all the scattered Pokémon and purchase in-game items in Pokémon GO without having to use their phones. The device can be worn as a pin or attached to a wrist strap so players can be easily notified when a Pokémon or PokéStops are located around the vicinity when it lights up. This could definitely come in handy, especially if the player is saving the smartphone's battery.

The wearable device will cost $34.99.

"Pokémon GO" is considered the most successful mobile game in history after reaching an estimated 75 million downloads on both Android and iOS platforms two weeks after its launch on July 6. With the launch of its companion accessory, playing "Pokémon GO" is expected to be more enjoyable.
