'Pokémon Go' tips: Game will launch in Europe and Asia soon

The Pokemon Company/Niantic

After the overwhelming success of "Pokemon Go" in the United States, New Zealand, and Australia, Niantic Labs and Nintendo have made a decision to pause their international release date.

According to Polygon, the reason for this is that there are a lot of server issues that need to be addressed. However, these companies have already started resolving all these issues and they are hoping to launch the game in Europe, Japan and other Asian countries after a few days.

Originally, Niantic was hoping to launch the game in other regions in the same week as the aforementioned countries. However, as the game went live, they received numerous complaints from users who got locked out from their own accounts, servers not loading and being forced to log in to the game multiple times during their play session. With this, Niantic came up with the decision to delay the global release of the game until the issues are fixed.

Meanwhile, according to the Verge, a lot of users from regions where the game hasn't launched yet are able to play, but only by sideloading the app for Android users. As for iOS users, they get the game by creating an Apple ID that mentions the U.S., Australian or New Zealand region. However, players need to be aware that a lot of malware-infected copies of this game are popping up online, infecting the users' smartphones.

In the midst of all these server issues, Amazon CTO Werner Vogels joked that the Amazon Web Services would love to cloud-host the "Pokemon Go" game via Twitter. He even went so far as to say that he would really want to catch a Drowzee once the servers are up. If Niantic takes this joke seriously, the game could be released worldwide much sooner. As for now, aspiring Pokemon trainers should just wait until further announcements are made.
