A new, darker version of Mewtwo will appear in "Pokken Tournament," which will soon come out on Wii U worldwide.

Based on a new trailer for the game, a new legendary character dubbed Shadow Mewtwo will join the other characters from the Bandai Namco Entertainment and The Pokémon Company's popular fighting game.

The new character is the third version of one of the strongest Pokémon characters ever. The trailer shows that Shadow Mewtwo also possesses similar gameplay that the legendary characters of the video game franchise have. The inclusion of this character could give a major boost to the upcoming game.

As of now, the roster featured in "Pokken Tournament" includes Pikachu, Charizard, Weavile, Gardevoir, Gengar, Lucario, Machamp, Blaziken, Suicune and Pikachu Libre.

The game also features several support characters, including Fennekin, Emolga, Frogadier, Eevee, Snivy, Whimsicott, Jirachi, Mismagius, Lapras, and Ninetales.

At the moment, the "Pokken Tournament" arcade edition is only available in Japan and has been played there since July 16. It combines the fighting gameplay concept of Bandai Namco's "Tekken" video game franchise, but the fighting characters are represented by the popular characters from the "Pokémon" game series.

However, the game focuses on the action part of the game instead of the technical gameplay to appeal to both hardcore fighting game fans and those who just want to play the game casually.

After the release of the trailer, The Pokémon Company officially made an announcement saying that the new Shadow Mewtwo will be joining "Pokken Tournament" as an added boss in the arcade edition of the game. It will also be featured in the Wii U version that will soon come out in international markets.

The "Pokken Tournament" Wii U is set to release in Spring 2016.
