The upcoming brawler title "Pokken Tournament" by Nintendo, apart from pitting different Pokémon in "Tekken"-style roster fights, will have a surprise treat for its fans. Reportedly, as with other spin-off brawler titles in the Wii U console, it is revealed that the game will have surprise Amiibo support.

According to the listing on the Nintendo website for "Pokken Tournament," it is indicated that the different Amiibo will also be featured in the fighting game. In addition, the site listed that the game will be, "Compatible with all Amiibo accessories unlocking in-game items." This means that all Amiibo-related accessories, including the cards and figurines, can be used in-game to unlock surprise and bonus items.

The website announcement also listed down an example of how the Amiibo support will work for "Pokken Tournament." According to the post, "Tap the Shadow Mewtwo Amiibo card to the Wii U GamePad controller to unlock Shadow Mewtwo to be played right away."

The Shadow Mewtwo Amiibo card is included as an add-on gift for the Wii-U physical copies of "Pokken Tournament."

Prior to the listing, Attack of the Fanboy said that it already predicted that there will be Amiibo support for "Pokken Tournament," judging from Nintendo's inclusion of the Shadow Mewtwo card as a bundle gift for the first edition copies of the Wii U-exclusive game.

The industry follower also surmised that the way it will work will be similar to how the support is seen in "Hyrule Warriors," another game with Amiibo support. This means that each Amiibo accessory will spawn different in-game items for "Pokken Tournament" players, ranging from extra costumes for characters, to rare and exclusive bonus packs for a number of specific Amiibo accessories.

"Pokken Tournament" will be released for the Wii U on March 18.
