The next batch of "Power Rangers" will have a new wardrobe.

It appears like Rita Repulsa will not be the only one who will have a total make-over for the upcoming "Power Rangers" movie, since the new cast has been seen donning new costumes.

The new cast, composed of Dacre Montgomery as Red Ranger Jason, Naomi Scott as Pink Ranger Kimberly, singer Becky G as Yellow Ranger Trini, Ludi Lin as Black Ranger Zack, and RJ Cyler as Blue Ranger Billy, will now wear a crystal-like armor all over their bodies. The new costumes were revealed via Entertainment Weekly.

Film director Dean Israelite explained why they needed to change the look of the new Power Rangers.

"The show was about kids coming of age, about metamorphosis," the director told EW. "These suits needed to feel like they were catalyzed by these kids and their energy, their spirit."

Production designer Andrew Menzies also mentioned that the new costumes also help in differentiating the upcoming film from the previously released superhero movies.

"It's tricky finding a new language for a superhero costume," Menzies said. "Ours is an alien costume that grows on them, that's not man-made. You can't win everyone over, but we are trying to appeal to a more mature audience and gain new fans."

However, some fans of the original series are not happy with the changes in the new "Power Rangers" costumes. Most of them took their opinion to Twitter, saying that the costumes made the characters look more feminine while others believe that it made them look more like Iron Man and the Transformers.

This is also the same reaction of the public when they first saw the changes in the costume of Rita Repulsa, played by actress Elizabeth Banks. Some of them do not approve of the new green, reptilian costume.

The new "Power Rangers" film will be released on March 24, 2017.
