Premier Christian Radio’s Hip-Rock UK Presenter Wins Andrew Cross Award

The annual conference of the Churches Media Council was held on Tuesday, which marked the prominent Andrew Cross awards. The Young Talent award was awarded to Dave Rose, a member of staff of Premier Christian Radio.

Premier presenter and Judge Cindy Kent had the honour of awarding her fellow staff member. "The Judges marked Dave Rose out as a young, talented and versatile broadcaster," said Kent, speaking as a Judge. "The panel was impressed by the range of Dave’s talents as the co-presenter and producer of Premier's Hip-Rock UK, in particular by the range of talent seen in his features on begging and homelessness."

The Andrew Cross Awards recognises the best in local and regional religious radio and television broadcasting, video production, websites, publications and personalities.

Other Premier presenters have won an Andrew Cross award aside from Dave Rose. In 2003, Justin Brierley, a member of Premier’s breakfast crew was also honoured with the Young Talent award. Also, Premier was presented with a Commendation in the category of Advert or Promotion for their work with the Black Police Association last year. This year, Premier’s website has also received a Commendation in the Web category for "A dynamic site with varied content very suited to its audience."

Dave Rose’s HipRock UK is broadcast every Saturday on Premier Radio from 4.00-6.00p.m. The show is presented by Dave Rose & Bridgitte Tetteh with the best new Christian rock, hip-hop, r’n’b, dance and pop. Guests are interviewed from around the world and listeners are updated on issues affecting their lives such as debt, relationships, sex and current affairs.
