This week on "Pretty Little Liars," the liars were told by the new big bad that Charlotte (Vanessa Ray) was murdered with an iron golf club, but Spencer (Troian Bellisario) discovered that something else appears to have been used to kill Charlotte.

A detective told the liars that Charlotte was killed with a hollow piece of metal with a rectangular cut on the end. The description matches a piece that was missing from Melissa's (Torrey DeVitto) luggage, and now Spencer thinks that her sister might have something to do with the murder.

While Spencer tried to process this new piece of information, she also found out that her mother, Veronica (Lesley Fera) has breast cancer. The opposition planned to leak Veronica's health records as they feared that she could win the senatorial election.

Meanwhile, Aria (Lucy Hale) and Liam's (Roberto Aguire) relationship continued to flourish even when he found out that Aria was ghostwriting Ezra's (Ian Harding) book. Liam encouraged her to keep going, but Ezra told Aria that he has finished writing the next three chapters of the book. He also told her that he ran into her parents and that they asked him to keep quiet and not tell Aria about their rekindled romance.

Next week, in the episode titled "We've All Got Baggage," the liars investigate Melissa after she becomes a suspect in Charlotte's murder. Meanwhile, Emily (Shay Mitchell) gets harassed by a stalker while she continues to search for Sara.

With Ezra back in Rosewood, Aria is forced to tell him about her involvement in his book. Spencer and Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) work together to deal with a media leak that affects Veronica's campaign, and Hanna (Ashley Benson) takes a look at her life after an incident at work. Elsewhere in the episode, two lovers finally tie the knot with the help of a special officiant.

"Pretty Little Liars" airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on Freeform.
