Executive producer Marlene King recently posted a throwback photo of the time they shot the new opening sequence for "Pretty Little Liars" season 6. All five liars are dressed in black and have slippers on, suggesting that the camera won't be film their feet.

This mere photo sent the rumor mill rolling for details about what every element in it says about the return of the show. In turn, it is now widely believed that a character's death will be mourned.

Media outlets agree that the scene could see the girls standing behind a casket, just like how they were in the first opening scene where they looked upon the casket of Ali, who obviously turned out to be alive.

TV Line guesses that the DiLaurentis matriarch will be the one lying in the casket in the new "Pretty Little Liars" season 6 opening sequence. However, Carter Matt argues that with the midseason premiere starting five years after her death, it is strange that such scene will be included.

More on the opening sequence, King has long teased that each of the girls will get to do some shushing in it. In the original one, it was only Lucy Hale's character Aria who was seen doing the don't-make-any-noise gesture. In the new one, each of them will.

Of course, with a new episode opener come new versions of the show's characters. As per Melty, the stars of the series also did a photoshoot for the midseason where they are seen much more mature and conspicuously transformed.

When "Pretty Little Liars" season 6 comes, the girls are out of high school and are all grown up. They have gone to college and have taken up different professions. As teased in the trailer released for the midseason premiere, they will be reunited.

This reunion will be instigated by another threat to the life of Alison, who has returned to Rosewood and become a teacher.

"Pretty Little Liars" season 6 premieres with "Of Late I Think of Rosewood" in January.
