'Pretty Little Liars' season 7 premiere date, spoilers: New season to feature repercussions of A's torments

ABC Family

The first half of "Pretty Little Liars" season 6 is drawing to a close, with A's identity finally going to be unmasked on Aug. 11 during the midseason finale titled "Game Over, Charles." There's no word yet about season 7, not with all the attention on seeing A's face.

"Pretty Little Liars" was already renewed for season 7. ABC Family announced the double season renewal of the long-running teen murder thriller back in June last year, when season 5 of the series was just premiering. That said, there's more to see in the lives of Aria and the group.

Meanwhile, the second half of "Pretty Little Liars" season 6 will follow the Liars as adults and this will continue in season 7. Series creator Marlene King said that they will be the same people, "just more grown-up versions of themselves." However, despite the series itself moving on from the A mayhem, the Liars are in for a long road to recovery from the horrors they experienced.

"The girls lived a free life for 5 years. They have not been tortured or tormented by this anonymous cyber bully. They're taking yoga now, they're breathing. They have more time for extracurricular activities because they're not being chased by an anonymous stalker," King told Entertainment Weekly. "They still suffer from post-traumatic stress at times and we will hear as we go into the next season some stories about how what they've been through has still haunted them and affected the decisions that they make."

King also emphasized that the revelation of Charles' identity won't be the end of the mysteries. She told the same publication that "there's definitely some mysteries to come and a lot more story to tell," one of which could be the reason Ezra and Aria did not survive as a couple.

Lucy Hale, who plays Aria in the series, told AOL BUILD (via Seventeen) that her character has found a new love and so had Ezra. The actress, however, said that it is still possible for the Ezria loveteam to reunite and if they do, Hale wants a "big marriage episode."

The season 6 summer finale will air on Aug.11. "Pretty Little Liars" season 7 is slated to air mid-2016.
