Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's fairytale-esque romance is getting the small screen treatment with a movie on Lifetime.

The cable network recently announced it is currently developing "Harry & Meghan: The Royal Love Story," a film that chronicles the pair's relationship -- from the blind date where they first met to their courtship and eventual engagement. It will also touch on Meghan's life as a divorced American actress, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Menhaj Huda, who directed an episode of E!'s fictional Royal Family series "The Royals" last year, is at the helm,  while Merideth Finn and Michele Weiss are executive producers. The casting process is now under way with no one confirmed for the lead roles yet. The air date has yet to be announced as well, but it will likely be lined up with the royal wedding in mid-May.

Prince Harry and Meghan's romance is not the first royal love story Lifetime has adapted into a television film. Back in 2011, the network also gave the same treatment to Prince William and Kate Middleton with "William and Kate: The Movie," a gloriously low-budget re-enactment of their relationship prior to their wedding. Nico Evers-Swindell and Camilla Luddington were cast as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, respectively.

Although not a love story, it also produced "The Murder of Princess Dianna," starring "Once Upon a Time" actress Jennifer Morrison as a reporter trying to uncover a royal conspiracy to kill Diana.

Prince Harry and Meghan announced their engagement via Clarence House last fall, a year and a half after they started dating. The two will tie the knot on May 19 at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle in England where he was baptized. Their wedding will be televised and likely be followed by a reception in the Waterloo Chamber, St. George's Hall and the Grand Reception Room within the castle.
