Rumors of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's engagement are now confirmed as the two opened up recently about it. While the royal family has their own share of the spotlight, Markle's mother, Doria Ragland, has also been in focus, especially with the news of the engagement.

Markle has found a best friend in her mom, who has been a single parent since Markle was six years old. She is a yoga instructor who has shared her love for it with her daughter. As for the news about the engagement, she already knew about it weeks before the official announcement. While it certainly is big news for many fans getting into a royal family, Ragland decided to keep a low-profile about it and even live life normally.

She was humble enough to be watering her plants the weekend before the engagement news. Daily Mail was able to snap a few photos of her doing her regular routine, but neither she nor the guard assigned to her by the royal family could answer any questions.

Nevertheless, there were statements handed out to the media wanting to ask her about her daughter's engagement. The statement was made via Kensington Palace stating how much she and her ex-husband and father, Thomas Markle, are happy for their daughter.

"Our daughter has always been a kind and loving person. To see her union with Harry, who shares the same qualities, is a source of great joy for both parents," reads an excerpt from the statement. "We wish them a lifetime of happiness and are very excited for their future."

Ragland has apparently also met Prince Harry back in the Invictus Games last October, as per The Sun. Prince Harry flew Ragland from Toronto all the way to L.A. just to join him and her daughter for the games. This may have also been when Prince Harry broke the news to her fiancee's mother.
