After FOX confirmed the revival of "Prison Break," fans of Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) were excited. However, it appears that they won't be seeing Michael back soon.

"Prison Break 5's" revival is said to be delayed and it's because of Miller and Dominic Purcell's commitment to The CW's upcoming "Legends of Tomorrow," as the two will play Captain Cold and Heat Wave, respectively.

Purcell, who played Michael's brother, Lincoln, in "Prison Break," confirmed why the reboot is facing some hurdles.

The actor shared to TV Line during the Television Critics Association press tour that the studios behind the two series are working hard to come up with a plan to move things forward.

Purcell revealed that Warner Bros. and 20th Century Fox are "negotiating the complexities" of a deal, but he also ensured fans that the project is "moving forward."

Miller, who was also present at the press tour, agreed. He went on to express his hope that "Prison Break" will start production by spring.

"Prison Break is taking its cue from 'Legends,' which is the priority. So we're aiming for spring," Miller said.

It appears that fans may have to wait longer for the return of the "Prison Break" tandem. With what Miller said about a spring production, it is likely that the reboot will be released sometime in fall.

Meanwhile, Sarah Wayne Callies, who played Sara Tancredi in the series, may not come back to reprise her role.

The actress opened up to Forbes last year, saying that she's been approached concerning her involvement in the project, but not in a formal way. Callies also mentioned that if the material is good, she'll go for it.

"I don't want to do something that feels like a reunion because it would be cool to get the band back together. I want to do something because there's more story to tell," she said.

Forbes reported that Callies is still interested in the idea of a revival and she considers what fans would want for her character and Miller's. But as she pointed out, the story matters more and if Sara won't fit in the reboot, it's likely that fans won't be seeing the much anticipated reunion.
