"Prison Break" season 5 is one of the most anticipated shows given how successful the original series was during the mid-2000s. No official premiere date has been announced as of the moment, but it is currently expected to premiere in March 2017.

According to Hulu Magazine, the show may premiere two months short of a year following the launch of the first trailer this past May. Previous seasons premiered in the Fall, roughly between August and September, but the new revival series is much shorter and may be better suited for a Spring premiere.

During the report, Fox CEO Dana Walden also hinted about how Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) may have survived his ordeal from the season 4 finale and how he may be rescued in season 5.

Walden first joked and stated that it would be an ignored part of the story, but then the CEO later explained that there would be a believable and logical explanation that would showcase how Michael was treated for his tumor and how he survived getting electrocuted, as seen in the season 4 finale. The revival series will also show how he escaped that facility but somehow got imprisoned in the one he is in for season 5.

She also stated that the series will live up to the vision by the original creator, Paul Scheuring. This indicates that the fifth season will draw inspiration primarily from the first season of the show.

When asked if the series would be renamed, similar to how the "Heroes" revival show was titled "Heroes: Reborn" she stated they have not yet decided, and a full title will likely be announced next year, closer to the season 5 premiere.

The report speculates that after escaping the facility, Michael may have simply decided to stay away from his family to keep them safe, or he may have been recruited by the CIA. None of these theories have been confirmed, though.
