In "Prison Break" season 5, Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) is revealed alive but is a prisoner in Yemen. At the moment, it is unclear how he managed to stay alive.

In the previous season of the series which aired in 2009, Michael appeared to have died of electrocution in the prison as they fought to save Sara (Sarah Wayne Callies).

Without doubt, the question that fans will be aching to get an answer to in "Prison Break" season 5 is how Michael escaped death. Of course, the revival series will shed light on that.

The writers of "Prison Break" were recently asked how the said ending will be handled in "Prison Break" season 5, whether it will be "explained by a few words or [entwined] in the season 5 storyline."

"All I can say is that we didn't ignore it," the "Prison Break" writers tweeted, being coy about it.

When "Prison Break" season 5 was announced, FOX promised a "logical and believable explanation" for how Michael managed to live to tell the tale. Needless to say, there's a lot riding on this explanation being satisfying and organic. Even so, fans have so much confidence about "Prison Break" season 5 that they are already looking forward to a sixth season.

While this isn't on the cards yet, it is definitely possible. "Prison Break" writers answered a fan regarding the chances of "Prison Break" season 5 marking the start of more seasons. They said that ultimately, "that's up to FOX." The writers also hinted that the phenomenal ratings performance of "Prison Break" season 5, should it enjoy such when it premieres, will go unrewarded.

"If the ratings are amazing, that definitely enhances the chance of a return," they teased.

Fans are clearly excited about the revival series. This enthusiasm translated online as the "Prison Break" season 5 trailer garnered the biggest number views and reactions all across social media platforms. It will be a surprise if the viewership won't be off the charts when the show premieres.

The production for "Prison Break" season 5 is currently in progress. The cast and crew are in Morocco shooting scenes presumably involving Michael's life outside the Yemeni prison.

"Prison Break" season 5 is set to premiere early next year.
