PS Plus February 2018 leak confirmed to be fake

PlayStation Plus subscribers are still waiting for announcements regarding free video games coming in February. It was recently revealed that the PS Plus leak circulating online was fake.

According to a Reddit post last week, three video game titles — "That's You," "Far Cry 4," and "Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin" — are coming to PS Plus next month. However, a recent post on Reddit clarified that the photo being distributed online is a fake. The person behind the image confessed, "Hi my name is George Awad I'm the creator of the image that's been around like wildfire and to prove it I'll provide this image where I moved a few thing around." He added, "I made this as a joke on facebook and someone put this on reddit and it spread like wildfire." Awad then posted a screenshot of the photo being edited using Photoshop.

Some Redditors mentioned that they immediately deemed the initial post to have been fake and should have never been in circulation for the lack of reliable sources. One user wrote, "It wouldn't have spread like wildfire in mods enforced rule 6." A number of video game websites and publications had already released their own articles following the posting of the leak.

The PlayStation team nor Sony have not addressed the issue yet. Gamers are now waiting for confirmation from PlayStation if new video games will indeed be included in the downloading service for free. Gamers are expecting PlayStation team to announce free video games coming to the PS Plus this week.

"Deus Ex: Mankind Divided," "Batman: The Telltale Series," "Uncanny Village," and "Psycho Pass: Mandatory Happiness" were the video games added to PS Plus for free in January. Other games for other PlayStation consoles were included in the free to download list this month.
