PS Plus free games for May 2015 leaked?

Playstation Europe

Next month's array of free games for PS Plus subscribers is not expected to be revealed until next week, but new reports are claiming that the PlayStation Germany blog has accidentally leaked them a bit too early. The alleged free games are listed below.

PS4

  • "Rayman Legends" (PS4/PS3)
  • "Knack"

PS3

  • "Need For Speed Rivals"
  • "Shovel Knight" (PS4/PS3/PS Vita)

PS Vita

  • "Fruit Ninja"
  • "Asphalt Injection"

Sony has not said a word about whether or not these games will indeed be their May 2015 offerings for PS Plus, but media outlets regard the list as "believable" or "possible." Their major doubts go straight into the inclusion of "Shovel Knight," a 2D side-scrolling platform game from Yacht Club Games.

The title was recently released to the PS4 and it will certainly infuriate gamers who shelled out $20 for a game that will eventually be offered for free. In addition, Tech News Today believes that it will fuel discouragement and less support for indie titles.

It is also important to note that "Rayman Legends" was already offered by Microsoft to subscribers of its Xbox Games with Gold. Meanwhile, the inclusion of the platforming beat 'em up video game "Knack" may be Sony's way to thrust it back into the field before it speeds off into oblivion (the game did not quite make it when it first came out).

On the other hand, "Need for Speed Rivals," the 20th addition to the ever-growing and long-running "Need for Speed" racing game series, is the likeliest title Sony will offer. The game is already free via EA Access to Xbox One and it makes sense for Sony will offer it on the house as well.

For now, PS Plus members will have to wait for Sony to officially announce the free games for May before any comment or violent reaction is expressed.
