PS4 Firmware Update 2.0; Share Play and Youtube Integration included

The update, codenamed Masamune, will be Sony's answer to all of PS4 gamers' greatest pleas and biggest requests. Masamune will be swarming with grand features that are sure to enhance every player's gaming experience.

Apart from the update's YouTube integration, the biggest pin-up is its Share Play feature. With this, players can engage in improved gameplay with a friend in an hour-long invite for a co-op play. Moreover, gamers can have their pals play or continue the game for them. This also means that the guest can spectate and give tips to the player who invited them. And this awesomeness is all possible even if that chosen gamer buddy does not own the game. The Share Play will deliver 720p on the guest's PS4, and the size will rely on his or her bandwidth, much like a video streaming feel.

PS4 2.0 Firmware Update also grants users a more customizable PS4 interface with eight inbuilt color schemes and themes that can be downloaded from the PlayStation Store. For a bonus, players can also chill with their own playlist while in full game stance. To do that, they just have to plug in the USB device containing the music and from there, the console will detect it and will then play the songs stored on the device. Other modifications consist of a revamped Content Area, the ability to pause and resume downloads, and a range of enhancements in creating and watching live broadcasts.

Sony goes all-out with another set of updates up its sleeves. Today will also be the day the 3.35 update for PlayStation Vita and PlayStation TV will be made available. Thanks to this, four-player Remote Play support and the Live from PlayStation app to PlayStation TV are now available. Also, the PlayStation App on Android and iOS will get the v2.0 upgrade complete with a new home screen.

There is also the rollout of the Season Pass intended for the Video Unlimited and PlayStation Store. Users of the PS Store can access a larger collection of clips of shows for the PS3 console. When a user purchases a season, previous and forthcoming seasons will also be ready for access through the "My Videos" section of the account. For now, the pass can be used on the PS3 and PS Store. Support for the PS4, Blu-Ray disc players and BRAVIA TV will follow suit.
