The stage has been set for Sony at the Paris Games Week 2017.

PlayStation 5 (PS5) may actually be just around the corner, as rumors arise regarding the release of the console at Paris Games Week 2017.

Sony, the manufacturer of the said console, has announced something big that it will be unveiling at the Paris Games Week today, Oct. 31. The event is considered to be one of the biggest of the year, and supposedly, Sony would even launch 21 game updates an hour before the big reveal at 8 a.m. This big reveal has led to speculations that Sony might have been planning the announcement for the official release of PS5, in line with how Microsoft is drum beating the arrival of the Xbox One X.

This is because the company had initially planned to make a big reveal for the upcoming console later in the year but did not specify when exactly. Some websites even suggested that Sony could be doing the PS5 insight to sway people into their favor from Xbox One X. However, details about the PS5 rumors are vague at best, so fans may want to curb their excitement. The game announcements, however, are all set and confirmed.

"Plan to tune in early at 8:00 am! We'll begin with an introductory livestream featuring 21 game updates, including seven all-new game announcements for PS4 and PS VR. You won't want to miss it. Then at 9:00 a.m, our Media Showcase will give you an exclusive new look at the next wave of huge PlayStation titles," as is stated in a blog post by the company. The seven new games, however, have not been named and are considered to be one of the most awaited surprises by Sony.

The said games and announcements for other games may have also been the titles which the company held back during E3 2017 back in June. It seems they have not dropped the prospects and the announcements and were just saving it.

Sony's big announcements at the Paris Games Week 2017, will begin at 8 a.m. EDT on Oct. 31.
