The dynamic duo of Shawn Spencer (James Roday) and Burton Guster (Dulé Hill) is set to make its return on "Psych: The Movie."

After airing the last episode in 2014, fans of the detective comedy series "Psych" have been waiting for a comeback. According to an announcement made at the New York Comic Con last week, the upcoming two-hour television movie will air on Dec. 7.

The made-for-TV film will bring back Shawn and Gus after three years of absence from TV land. "Psych" aired for eight seasons from 2006 to 2014.

The trailer for "Psych: The Movie" came out last August and was filled with hilarity. In a press release announcing the show's return to TV, a plot summary was also released.

It reads, "Fake psychic Shawn Spencer and Burton "Gus" Guster open up their new office in San Francisco, appropriately (though perhaps awkwardly) named psychphrancisco, and are back in business solving a case after a mystery assailant targets one of their own. A comedic thrill ride follows as the wild and unpredictable 'Psych' team pursues the bad guys, justice... and food!"

Fans will surely appreciate that "Psych" will not be undergoing any reboot of sorts and will retain its old comedic flavor in a new location.

Aside from Roday and Hill, other cast members are also set to return to the show such as Corbin Bernsen, Maggie Lawson, Kirsten Nelson and Tim Omundson. The show will feature guest appearances from Zachary Levi, Kurt Fuller, Jamzyn Simon, Ralph Macchio, Charlotte Flair and Jimmi Simpson.

Steve Franks, the show's creator and executive producer, is also attached to this project, writing the script with Roday. The comeback movie promises to be a fun jog down memory lane for the fans of the series.

"Psych: The Movie" will air on the USA Network on Dec. 7 at 8 p.m. EST.
