'PUBG' news: NVIDIA announces system requirements for survival game

NVIDIA's recommendations for running "PUBG" smoothly NVIDIA

"PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" (PUBG), one of the most played games right now, is finally getting an official full release just a few days away, and with that comes the official system recommendations and requirements in order to enjoy it in its full graphical glory.

Leading graphics processing unit (GPU) manufacturer NVIDIA has announced what it will take in their list of available hardware to run "PUBG" without any problems. The GPU company has also teamed up with the developers of the game in order to conduct some tests an determine which graphics card tiers work best with what settings. Both have conducted lots of tests in this regard, using hundreds of benchmarks.

NVIDIA has placed the mid-range GeForce GTX 1060 as the recommended GPU for the game since their data has yielded an average of 70 frames per second (FPS) with the video card playing the game on High graphics preset settings. This is for 1920x1080 or 1080p resolution. One thing to note is that during the tests, the GTX 1060 also did not go below 60 FPS, meaning that it should be a constantly smooth experience for the players despite the demanding graphical fidelity.

For players who have a big monitor (exceeding 27 inches in size) and with a resolution of 2560x1440 (1440p), a GTX 1070 would be necessary since the high-tier card was able to put out 70 FPS on the High settings with the said resolution, with a minimum framerate of 61 FPS. Meanwhile, players who have a 3840x2160 (4k) display will need a GTX 1080 Ti if they want to play the game on High settings without the average framerate dipping below 60 FPS.

As for the Ultra settings of "PUBG," players only need to increase the GPU tier by a step for each resolution, meaning the 1080p should now require the GTX 1070 and so on, should they want to keep the framerate above 60 FPS. An important thing to note is that NVIDIA's benchmarks were tested using the Intel Core i7-6700k processing paired with 16 gigabytes (GB) of DDR4-2133 random access memory (RAM) and a Windows 10 operating system. Other setups may introduce result discrepancies.

Performance on the Xbox One versions of the game, on the other hand, is expected to be the same for every user of the console.
