With "PUBG" breaking player records for games either on Steam or on its Xbox One beta, more and more players are starting to play the game. Whether a beginner or an advanced battle royale player, it would not hurt to at least have a look at some basic tips and tricks that may eventually help players get that chicken dinner.

First and foremost, players who want to win need to understand the game. While first-person shooter (FPS) games usually have getting the most kills as the objective, "PUBG" is not the typical FPS game. There are many people who win without necessarily getting the most kills and maybe not even having a single kill at all.

That said, stealth is what players need to master. From the start of the game, try choosing a place where it is usually less crowded to land on. This means avoiding major towns or cities. There will be stuff to look anyway in less populated areas. Do not open the parachute right away as the priority is to get to the ground faster than everyone else.

If the player gets no weapon and needs to run, better take off the shoes as it makes less noise while still maintaining the same speed. When entering buildings or houses, note that all doors start closed. So if a door is open, chances are either there is a player inside the building or someone was there. When under fire from an unknown location, run in a zigzag path until covered.

Although stealth wins more games than getting kills, it would not hurt to practice marksmanship. In the pre-deployment zone, the ruined airstrip has a ton of weapons scattered around and players can always try them out and start some practice shooting.

These are generally the basic tips that players, especially beginners would need to know. Even the most advanced players who are great getting kills would not be able to win without the right strategy.
