"PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds," or commonly known as "PUBG," has amassed millions of players worldwide. This time around, major Chinese technology company, Tencent, will be working with "PUBG" developers, Bluehole, to make a mobile game for the gamers in China.

With the Chinese having strict care for their values and culture, Tencent themselves will be working with Bluehole to make the new game appropriate for China. They released an official statement in Chinese, which simply states that the two companies have already agreed to each other's terms. With that, they were happy to announce the new mobile "PUBG" game.

According to IGN, the post also mentions the acknowledgement of the limitations of a mobile phone compared to the usual gaming PC and consoles. That said, they still aim to have the essence of the main PC game and port it to mobile to offer "true Battle Royale experience on your smartphone."

For those even not based in China, mobile gamers would already know that there are multiple "PUBG" clones popping up in the App Store and Google Play, as per Engadget. Smartphone company, Xiaomi, even has their own mobile version that is extremely similar to the original game. However, bringing the developers themselves to work with them on an official mobile "PUBG" version is still interesting for Tencent to do.

With many players already having played several of the mobile game clones, it is not unusual for them to feel quite skeptical about this new game despite Bluehole being in the picture. These mobile game clones make the limitations of a small screen and the touchscreen feature more apparent.

Chinese gamers will just have to wait for the game to be released. Unfortunately, no mention was made for an official release date. Hopefully, if the game is successful, they may try making the game available to everyone outside China as well.
