'PUBG' Xbox One patch updates: New squad mode, game lag decreases

While "PUBG" has recently been released out of Steam's Early Access, the Xbox One version is still far from complete. Needless to say, it has not performed as well as gamers have thought. With the third patch being rolled out, it adds the Squad mode and conveniently removes some in-game lag.

"You will now be able to play Squad mode as a 1, 2, or 3-man squad without having to matchmake with other players," says developer Bluehole as per Express.co.uk. The mode is not something new as Xbox One players who have seen or tried the game on PC would already be familiar with the mode. Apparently, in the battle royal game, squads allow players to go in groups to be the last ones standing together.

Another part of the update thankfully addressed some of the game's performance issues, specifically when it comes to lag. "We have deployed a small patch to reduce the character position readjustment issue and further reduce intermittent in-game lag," mentions Bluehole. This also tackles some of the issues that cause the game to crash.

Aside from the game lag itself, another major complaint of some players is the login itself. Although it has not been solved in the latest patch, Bluehole says that they have made progress on the issue. Hopefully, this issue and most other lag issues will be solved in the next update.

Speaking of the next update, it may just include Miramar, their desert map which many fans loved in the PC version. As for the current patches, fortunately, it does not require a game update, meaning that the game does not have to offline.

"PUBG" for Xbox is currently in its Game Preview which, for those who do not own an Xbox One, is their equivalent of an Early Access. That said, a lot of content, fixes, modes and such will still be added in future updates. This likely would not take long anymore as the PC version, which is the basis of the Xbox version, is already complete.
