ABC will premiere its brand-new thriller series "Quantico" today, Sept. 27. The action will kick off with an episode titled "Run," where viewers will get to meet the "the best, the brightest and the most vetted" FBI recruits.

The group includes a secretive FBI recruit in training who is always on the ball, and another who treats everything as a competition. There's also one with little experience on the battlefield, while one member of the group possesses the heart of a knight.

Alex Parrish will be the top recruit and will be played by Priyanka Chopra. The star describes her character as one who "instantly reads people and instinctively trusts few." Alex also happens to be "fiercely competitive and naturally gifted," which makes her the one to watch.

In the season premiere of "Quantico," it will be revealed that one of these recruits will engineer a terrorist attack in New York City a year after they started training. While it will seem that an FBI recruit being a mastermind of such destruction is unthinkable, their faculty and abilities endow them with the power.

"The fact of the matter is in some ways what [FBI guys] want is antithetical to what they need. Because if everybody's the same, how can you have different points of view?" executive producer Mark Gordon told Gulf News. "And the only way to solve a problem is to have different points of view, to be asking questions," he went on to say.

Tate Ellington, Johanna Braddy, Yasmine Al Massri and Jake McLaughlin will join Chopra on "Quantico." Series creator Joshua Safran told Gulf News in August that the diversity of their characters will help "present the world as we want it to be, not as it necessarily is."

Safran and Gordon are proud of the diversity in "Quantico" and emphasized how the individual characteristics of the recruits will play out significantly in the series. The "Quantico" season premiere airs today. Be sure to tune in to ABC or watch online via live stream on ABC.com at 10 p.m. ET.
