Games developer Ubisoft is now slowly revealing more and more details about the upcoming new downloadable content (DLC) expansion pack for its highly popular first-person shooter video game, "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege."
The brand new DLC expansion pack — dubbed "Operation Red Crow" — was previously revealed to contain several new maps set in Japan as well as two new operators.
A week ago, the company had officially teased one of the multiplayer maps through a sneak peek video that gave fans a glimpse of the new area. The map will be the fourth post-launch map that will be offered for free, and it features a classic Japanese dojo-like structure that has been built on top of a skyscraper above the streets of Nagoya.
Now, Ubisoft has released yet another teaser video for one of the DLCs newest operators, a female attacker-class character named Hibana. The 19-second trailer briefly shows the character, who appears to sneaking around a compound, most likely on an assassination mission. Hibana — which translates to "spark" in English — was revealed to be a member of the Japanese Special Assault Team.
Ubisoft mentioned that Hibana will be a close quarter combatant and will be coming equipped with a SuperNova and a Type-89 as her primary weapons. She will also come with either a PM9 or a P229 as her secondary weapons.
Ubisoft has yet to reveal her special abilities, but it should have something to do with stealth or silent attacks.
"[As] the first female Attacker post-launch, we wished to create an Operator that would create fresh tactical opportunities. The versatility she offers on the field will allow for more diverse team compositions. It was this unique aspect that we found interesting both in terms of game mechanics and characterization," explained Ubisoft writer Farah Daoud-Brixi.
All of the full details for the Japanese-themed "Operation Red Crow" DLC expansion pack will be revealed at a livestream event during the official Rainbow Six Siege Pro League semi-finals happening on Nov. 12 and Nov. 13.
