Two years and two months after its release, "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege" is still one of the most popular tactical shooter games. A lot of updates and new content have continually been added to entice gamers to continue playing or come back to the game. For those who want to try it out, the game is free-to-play in the coming weekend and is also getting a markdown.

The free play will start on Feb. 15 and end on Feb. 18 or Feb 19 on the Xbox One and Feb. 20 for the PlayStation (PS4). Players can join in the fun and shoot some bad guys by getting the game on PC via Steam or via the online store of their consoles.

The best part about this is that everything will be playable and not a single feature will be locked. Players will be able to try out every map and mode and play with every Operator available. Fortunately for those who would want to buy the game afterward, their progress in the free play would be carried over to their new game.

Conveniently, the game is currently on sale for half the price at most. Those who want to get the base game only can take advantage of the 20 percent off on the Ubisoft store. The starter edition is currently priced at €14,99 ($18.36) and the standard edition at €39,99 ($48.97). Those who are willing to spend more can purchase the game's downloadable contents (DLCs), at 20% off (plus 100 club units) from €7.99 ($9.78) to €15.99 ($19.58). The Standard Edition on Steam is also still on full price but a 10% discount is offered to those who would purchase the Rainbow Six Bundle — the complete set of "Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege" titles.

Those who plan to get the game after Feb. 20 will be thrilled to know that there will be new content coming soon with Season One of Year Three, Operation Chimera. PC players can get it earlier on Feb. 19 via the testing server with the new Outbreak mode also coming the next day, Feb. 20. 

Operation Chimera will officially launch on all platforms by March 6. The Outbreak mode, which is a limited-time event, will run from March 6 to April 3.
