American actor of Korean descent, Randall Park, has accumulated his fair share of notable projects in both the big and small screen. However, he still has some opinions regarding the lack of Asian roles in Hollywood in this day and age especially since racism and immigration are such relevant topics in the realm of current events.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Park talked about the relevance of the television series "Fresh Off the Boat," which tackles the immigration experience of Asian families in the 90s. It shows that there is some disparity in culture not just for Asians, but for other races as well. Even though the means of delivery is light in its tone, Park feels that the message is clear and still very much apparent in this day and age.

In an interview with the Huffington Post, Park stated that the show has accrued a steady and loyal fan base, whom are responsible for the show's current perpetuity. The little details that the show tackles, such as Asians refusing to use dishwashers, are fine details that allow the characters to become more relatable. In effect, it gives viewers a deeper understanding of their culture.

Park stated that it is important to shed some light on the hardships that immigrants had to go through in a culturally diverse country such as the U.S. He stated that it is important to "present immigrant characters and an Asian-American family in a multi-faceted way," which could be one of the reasons why the show "Fresh Off the Boat" has become popular in its own right.

According to Next Shark, "Fresh Off the Boat" is one of the catalysts that showed the lack of diversity in Hollywood projects. It has made the entertainment business and audiences aware that it is indeed possible to create a successful television program that does not have predominantly Caucasian cast members. It is further stated that recently, racial diversity has become more apparent in Netflix shows and Hollywood movies.

Season 4 of "Fresh Off the Boat" will premiere on Tuesday, Oct. 9 at 8:30 p.m. EDT on ABC.
