'Ray Donovan' season 3 spoilers: Mickey skips Bunchy's wedding in episode 9 'The Octopus'

Mickey skips Bunchy's wedding in the upcoming episode of "Ray Donovan."Showtime

Mickey (Jon Voight) may end up ruining Bunchy's (Dash Mihok) wedding in the upcoming episode of Showtime's crime drama series.

In "The Octopus," Cartermatt reports that what is supposed to be a happy affair for the Donovans will be marred by the absence of the family patriarch. Bunchy will be tying the knot with sweetheart Teresa (Alyssa Diaz), but his father Mickey is nowhere to be found. Apparently, the old man is hiding from the thugs who want to permanently silence him after his recent work for the police.

Last episode, the authorities approached Mickey with a proposal to work together to bring down the Minassians. The family was known for their nefarious work, lending money to brothels and such, and then getting it back with interest. Mickey was one of their costumers, after loaning quite a big sum to start off his own "flesh" business.

Unfortunately, things were not working out for him. His tenant was threatening to tell the authorities about his top gal Ginger (Fairuza Balk) and he had no option but to lay low. As a result, he had no hopes of paying his debts to Mrs. Minassian (Grace Zabriskie), who had already demonstrated what they would do to him if he did not pay on time.

Caught between a rock and a hard place, Mickey had two options — work with the police or produce the money to cover his debts. Mickey, of course, chose the former and look where it landed him now. The thug family wants to flush him out of hiding and show him exactly how "pleased" they are with him. Bunchy's wedding is the perfect place to trap him, knowing that the father will have to attend his son's big day.

Mickey, however, appears to get the better of the Minassians by not showing up. Where could he be hiding and how long before the family could track him? The older Donovan has proven time and again where Ray (Liev Schreiber) got his cunning from, and viewers should expect that he has a lot of cards up in his sleeves.

"Ray Donovan" airs Sundays at 9 p.m. EST on Showtime.
