Amber Marchese became one of the "Real Housewives of New Jersey" (RHONJ) when she joined the show at the start of season 6, but it appears now that she won't stay for long until castmate Teresa Giudice returns from jail.

According to Us Weekly, Amber confirmed her exit from the show last Tuesday, Nov. 10, and added that it was a mutual decision for her and husband Jim.

The entrepreneur housewife initially joined "Real Housewives" because she wanted to be an actress and "make producers happy," she said.

However, it turned out that she had only little control of everything that's happening on the set and realized that what's shown on TV is not really her true self.

Jim also agreed on this. "This show doesn't fit who we are as people, our lifestyle, and who we are as a family," he told Radar Online.

In the same report, Jim also confirmed that his wife is set to pursue a different venture and he thinks she made the best decision that could benefit her family and her health, since she's now fighting cancer for the second time.

Jim and Amber both agreed that they don't need the show because they also don't need the paycheck that comes with it.

Amber revealed that her co-stars know how the show works, but they still choose to go for it because they needed the money to sustain their living. "If we were in a financial position where we needed to, we would do it. But we're not," she said.

In addition to not needing money and bashing the show for not showing the characters as who they really are, Amber was also honest about how she feels toward Bravo's decision to film the Giudice special.

She even thinks that the network is exploiting Giudice's children, who are highlighted in the TV special featuring their incarcerated mother.

Despite her thoughts about RHONJ, Amber is still thankful she was part of the show. "I learned a great deal. However, RHONJ is a hard gig that requires one to be heartless and cruel. I am not either," she told Us Weekly.
