'The Real Housewives of New York' season 7 episode 8 recap: 'The Cavi-Art of War'

Bethenny breaks down in front of Carole, on The Real Housewives of New YorkBravotv/ The Real Housewives of New York

This week on "The Real Housewives of New York," Carole Radziwill runs for a seat on the board of her building, Ramona Singer tries to be supportive of Dorinda Medley's relationship with John, and Bethenny Frankel has a public meltdown while talking to Carole about her daughter Bryn.

While her boyfriend Alex is having fun in Nicaragua, Carole decides to try something new and run for a seat on the board of her building. Although the Radziwills have a long history in politics, Carole seems to find the idea of her campaigning for anything a bit amusing. With the help of a team of political consultants as well as Ramona, Heather Thomson and Heather's husband, they come up with a plan for the campaign.

After campaigning for two days, Carole invites Heather, Kristen Taekman, Sonja Morgan, Ramona, LuAnn de Lesseps, and Bethenny to come over while they wait for the results. LuAnn thinks that Carole is hardly the right person for the job because she's not very responsible, but in the end, Carole wins the election.

Ramona and Dorinda meet for lunch. Ramona gleefully tells Dorinda that her ex-husband, Mario, has been keeping in touch and has also reconciled with their daughter Avery. She says that Mario wants her back. Dorinda asks her if she thinks Mario has changed and she says no — if he didn't care about their family before, he certainly doesn't care for them now.

Later, talk turns to Dorinda's boyfriend John, and Ramona tells her friend that she accepts him because Dorinda loves him. During her confessional, Ramona says that it's not easy for her to embrace John, and "there are a lot of people who would prefer not to be seated next to him at a dinner party."

Bethenny, still emotional from her visit last week with her estranged stepfather, decides to go shopping with Carole at CB2. Somehow, talk turns to Bethenny's daughter Bryn, and she says that she's frustrated that she has limited time with her daughter. All of a sudden, she bursts into tears. Carole tries to comfort her, and a store assistant asks them if they need any help. Bethenny asks for wine, which the store doesn't have. After a while, she starts to feel exhausted.

"I could pass out, my eyes are closing," she says. She adds, "That was fun, so thanks for that."
