Gameplay details about "Red Dead Redemption 2" remain scarce, but other information about the highly anticipated sequel has been uncovered by some of the game's avid fans.

During the weekend, one fan posted his speculation regarding the soundtrack composer of "Red Dead Redemption 2" on NeoGAF.

According to the fan who uses the account name Simo, someone from Twitter claims that the music that can be heard in the announcement trailer of the game sequel could be considered as a remix track from the 2004 film "The Motorcycle Diaries," which was made by Argentinian film composer Gustavi Santaolalla.

The composer is also responsible for making the soundtrack of "The Last of Us" video game.

The fans posted both the film soundtrack and the music from the "Red Dead Redemption 2" announcement trailer for comparison.

However, there are no reports from Rockstar Games to confirm if the speculation is true. "So now I wonder if Santaolalla worked on RDR2's score, possibly along side Bill Elm and Woody Jackson, or just contributed a theme or two? Santaolalla is returning for The Last of Us 2 but Red Dead Redemption 2 has been in development since 2013 so any work Gustavo could of done should be feasibly complete by now," the fan states.

It could also be possible that the soundtrack of "Red Dead Redemption 2" might just be inspired from Santaolalla's music, since he normally creates tunes that has a Western theme.

On the other hand, fans are still waiting for the official release date announcement of the sequel of the critically acclaimed open-world Western action-adventure game, which was first released in 2010. But the game is expected to come out on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles sometime in the third or fourth quarter of the year.

Rockstar is expected to break its silence regarding the development of "Red Dead Redemption 2" soon.
