Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick revealed new details about the highly anticipated western shooter, "Red Dead Redemption 2."

At the MKM Partners event, Zelnick said that the sequel will feature "incredible emotional depth," as quoted by GameSpot, promising "great" story and gameplay elements for the sequel.

He also teased just how massive "Red Dead Redemption 2" is as he spoke about how the belief that a western-themed game would not work did not hold true in the original, which became one of the most popular and acclaimed games when it was released in 2010.

"We took a different point of view, which is that very occasionally westerns capture the imagination of the public. When we launched Red Dead, it did. And those times were right for that," Zelnick said.

"And I think the times are right for a big, sprawling, optimistic view of America again—and that's not meant to be cute," he went on to say, teasing a bit about what "Red Dead Redemption 2" will offer.

The highly-anticipated game was announced last month. Rockstar Games released a first look trailer showing a vast, picturesque setting for the sequel.

Zelnick said that they were not surprised by the overwhelming response of fans when "Red Dead Redemption 2" was first announced, adding that the "anticipation is enormous."

The studio also teased that "Red Dead Redemption 2" will get a "brand new online multiplayer experience," which is believed to be comparable to the mega-successful online mode of Rockstar's "Grand Theft Auto" franchise.

As per Rockstar, "Red Dead Redemption 2" will chronicle the "epic tale of life in America's unforgiving heartland" as players get to explore the "vast and atmospheric world" of the game.

"Red Dead Redemption 2" is one of the biggest and highly anticipated future releases. It is set for release in fall 2017 and is believed to be made playable on the PC.
