There is a lot of talk going on regarding "Red Dead Redemption 2" despite the radio silence of franchise developer Rockstar Games. The latest report claims it will be debuted with the PlayStation Neo.
For those who are not in the know, the PlayStation Neo is a next-generation console by Sony reportedly set for release next year, which means that the long-awaited sequel is not arriving this year.
If this is to be believed, then the wait for "Red Dead Redemption 2" just got longer. The only silver lining is that the game will be made much better as it will take advantage of the power of the PlayStation Neo.
Like the highly-anticipated western shooter, the console is a mystery. However, Sony has announced an even next week, Sept. 7 where the company is expected to at least talk about the next-gen console.
Sony is also expected to use the stage for the unveiling of its PlayStation 4 upgrade called PS4 Slim. It is rumored that this console might also mark the arrival of "Red Dead Redemption 2."
Rockstar has not confirmed the development of a new "Red Dead" game, although it was expected to come out due to the positive reception of the first one.
The studio's parent company Take-Two Interactive also indicated that "Red Dead Redemption 2" is coming. Last year, chief executive officer Strauss Zelnick said that "Red Dead" is a "franchise" that they will cultivate in the coming years.
Zelnick also had the expectations of gamers high when he said that Take-Two is coming to the Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3 2016 in a big way. This had many thinking the sequel will drop.
Unfortunately, it did not and Sony only brought gameplay for the open world action-adventure survival horror "Days Gone," prompting fans to think "Red Dead Redemption 2" was cut from the presentation as respect to the Orlando shooting victims.
At the moment, "Red Dead Redemption 2" is confirmed, but fans hope that it launches sooner rather than later.
