"Red Dead Redemption" was one of the biggest games of 2010, eventually winning the Game of the Year accolade from many different gaming publications. Rockstar has teased about the eventual sequel but now a former employee leaked all the juicy details on a Reddit post.

The former employee, an audio engineer, stated that the title of the game would be a prequel, "Red Dead Redemption 2: Legends of the West," and that it would be unveiled at the upcoming E3 Convention. Despite this, the leaker did not give a specific release date but did mention on the comment section that the game is scheduled for a December 2015 launch.

This release date was not taken lightly by media site Express. According to the site, it is very unlikely that Rockstar would be able to announce the game and release it in the same year while also focusing on the release of "Grand Theft Auto V" on the PC.

The informant also states that the game will feature three main characters, reminiscent of what the studios did with "Grand Theft Auto V." Two of the characters are Irish and Seth while the third being a completely customizable avatar for the player. John Marston, from the first game, is expected to make an appearance along with other familiar faces.

The game will also feature more stranger missions but players can only use Irish and Seth in them with the third character coming in as a "gun for hire." The third character will be the primary focus for free roam game play and both Seth and Irish can be called upon as companions.

"Legends of the West" will also utilize an entirely new gang system. According to the informant, players can choose to join either the gangs or the local law enforcement. Choosing the latter would make it more difficult to conduct robbings, a primary means of income for the player and a big focus of the campaign.
