Red Dead Redemption 2, despite the many rumors surrounding its release date announcement at the E3 2016, will most likely not happen.

Initially, there were reports of the game's release soon, with rumored leaks coming from an ex-employee saying that the next game will be a prequel and that its official title will be Red Dead Redemption 2: Legends of the West. However, up to this day, no official announcements has been made by Take-Two Interactive, and an in-depth article made by Yibada debunks the supposed leak.

The article states that the supposed features made by the anonymous developer seemed to be the same as that from the previous game, and as such, with four years of development time, it's impossible for the game not to have at least one or two new features. Even the title was criticized, stating that the title is as "made up" as it sounds.

Take-Two Interactive, despite its reputation of surprising its fans during E3, is still letting Rockstar Games handle the development of the newest Red Dead Redemption game. The latter company isn't known to do the same: they aren't known for planning big surprises on E3, and they prefer to reveal their games on their own chosen dates, so fans can only hope so much in terms of them announcing this most-anticipated game's release date.

Even a report from the Lazygamer told everyone not to get their hopes up for E3 2016. While Take-Two Interactive is attending E3 with a bang, it most likely hints on other projects they're working on.

Red Dead Redemption was first released in May 18, 2010 and was set as a follow-up for the 2004 game Red Hit Revolver. It's an open-world game that allows players to explore frontier towns, sprawling prairies, mountain passes and more. It's an epic story about 20th century Wild West where gunslingers and outlaws were the norm. It's rated a 9.7/10 by an IGN review.
