The PlayStation meet is about to go down and is said to introduce "Red Dead Redemption 2." It is rumored that the highly anticipated game will be used by Sony to give advantage to its upcoming PlayStation Neo, which is said to be unveiled during the event. The game sequel is expected to arrive sometime in 2017.

Sony has not revealed anything specific about the upcoming event. Fans are just adding things up. First, early last month, Sony Corporation sent out invites to media outlets for its PlayStation Meeting, set to happen on Sept. 7 at 3 p.m. at the PlayStation Theater, Times Square, New York. It is rumored that the company will lift the curtains for its PlayStation Neo, the company's answer to the Microsoft Xbox One Slim. A few days later, an industry insider named Tidux posted a cryptic message on Twitter, which translates to Rockstar, the game developer, will be at the PlayStation Meeting.

Putting both together gave fans an idea that Rockstar Games will be presenting "Red Dead Redemption 2" on the PlayStation Meet and may be the game that Sony wants to use to highlight the strong points of the new console.

"Red Dead Redemption 2" was rumored to be part of Sony's game offering to be presented during E3 2016, but was pulled out on the last minute because of its trailer having a similarity with the unfortunate Orlando shooting incident. Nevertheless, there was no reason behind a no-show during Gamescom 2016, which is also a big event for gaming.

Meanwhile, details for the game has been scarce. Rockstar has been tight-lipped on most of their games and does not really offer information upfront. A previous report from GameRant suggest that the game will be called "Red Dead Redemption 2: Legends of the West" and will have more than one playable character and will offer a larger open world than its predecessor.

Fans are expecting to know more about "Red Dead Redemption 2" by Sept. 7.
