Up to now, developer Rockstar Games still has not confirmed the existence of "Red Dead Redemption 2," but it is being reported that it will be here real soon.

According to the latest reports, the long-awaited sequel will be released next month along with the PlayStation 4 Slim, which is expected to be released on Sept. 7.

"Red Dead Redemption 2" will reportedly share the spotlight with the new and improved Sony console, and might even be the first title to be released for it.

According to previous reports, the game was ready for unveiling at the Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3) 2016, but the presentation was cancelled in the wake of the Orlando shooting.

The footage supposed to be shown at the convention reportedly contained scenes that were just too appropriate with the tragedy fresh in people's minds.

Sony has since denied that speculation, bringing gamers back to square one in figuring out when "Red Dead Redemption 2" will see the light of day.

It is said that should the game be made official, Rockstar won't go flashy and will only make the announcement on its website. After all, this has been what it is doing for "Grand Theft Auto" releases.

Meanwhile, there are reports that "Red Dead Redemption 2" won't be available until fall next year, and that it will be subtitled "Legends of the West."

There are also new reports stating that the sequel will feature, if not will be all about, zombies in the style of "Undead Nightmare," the mega popular downloadable content or DLC released for the first game.

The DLC was so huge of a hit that it was deemed the best post-launch content for any game. However, jumping into that is a bit too advanced, seeing that "Red Dead Redemption 2" itself remains unconfirmed.

But if Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick's words are anything to go by, the installment will arrive. "It seems quite obvious that Red Dead is a permanent franchise, again with the same caveat, or Borderlands, for example, and NBA and others," he said to GameSpot back in 2014.
