Could "Red Dead Redemption 2" really end up with an in-game map featuring the entirety of the United States?

That's a distinct possibility, according to the Latino Post.

Fans who got to experience the first "Red Dead Redemption" game were introduced to the rugged world of the Wild West, in an era when vigilantes roamed the streets and folks took justice into their own hands. 

In essence, the original game from the franchise showcased what a classic Western would be like if it were made into a video game.

Considering how successful the original "Red Dead Redemption" game has been, it's natural for fans to want more from its follow-up, and one option being considered is to feature a larger map, this time making use of the entire United States instead of just portions of it.

The idea of using the entire United States as a game map has also been brought up as a possibility for other Rockstar games, with the next "Grand Theft Auto" title also supposedly in the running to showcase such a feature.

Expanding the game map for "Red Dead Redemption 2" would also seem to be a logical next step for the franchise, though fans are also still wondering about other crucial details regarding the game.

For example, a release date for "Red Dead Redemption 2" remains unconfirmed.

Rockstar has said very little about any "Red Dead Redemption" sequel; although earlier this year, the game studio's parent company, Take-Two Interactive, did announce that there would be a new AAA title coming from them in 2016, iDigital Times reported.

Take-Two Interactive ultimately stopped short of saying which AAA title they would be releasing, although it would seem that there are only a few possibilities remaining.

The company has already formally announced other games such as "Battleborn" and "Mafia" and there's not a lot left for them to still come up with, meaning the possibility that "Red Dead Redemption 2" could be released next year would presumably be fairly good.
