"Grand Theft Auto 5" was a success and Rockstar Games have the fans to thank for it. To show appreciation to supporters, the developer may have something to offer for those who love other Rockstar Games, particularly Red Dead Redemption (RDR).

Rockstar Games has hinted last year that a sequel to RDR is possible and it is likely that it will arrive in the years to come.

In an official report from Rockstar Newswire, a spokesperson revealed that Rockstar Studios is planning and considering sequels for their games, which include RDR.

The Ask&Answered portion asked about the possibility of a "Red Dead Redemption 2" and the report author responded that the developers are not rushing to come up with sequels.

However, it doesn't mean that they won't be making one. They have several games in mind but they are taking bandwidth and timing into consideration, the report stated.

Meanwhile, a separate report from Crossmap stated leaked information found on Reddit, which gave out details about RDR 2.

According to the report, a Reddit user named AnonDN1978, who claimed to be a former developer for Rockstar Games, revealed that the release date for RDR 2 will be in 2016.

Moreover, the leaked information stated that the game has been in production for the last three and a half years and that it will be entitled "Red Dead Redemption 2: Legends of the West."

The unknown user also claimed that "the game will take place in the same area as the original game, twelve years before the first original game."

Additionally, "three playable characters" will be featured in the new sequel, two of them from the original and one will be a new face, the leaker posted.

AnonDN1978 also wrote that the announcement to the sequel will be given at the E3 conference, but apparently it wasn't and so rumors continue to circulate online.

These theories could either be true or plain rumors. But if Rockstar Games would make a formal announcement on the sequel's release date, game experts think it would only be appropriate since RDR was released five years ago.
