While The CW remains mum about the premiere date of "Reign" season 4, speculations claim that Mary (Adelaide Kane) will finally gain her power in Scotland back next season.

According to reports, Mary will do anything to reclaim her authority in her own kingdom after Scotland was plagued with violence and chaos while she stayed in France during her marriage with the late King Francis (Toby Regbo). She even used the suicide incident involving a Catholic priest to appeal to her nation at the end of season 3, but she is expected to plot more schemes in order to strengthen her authority.

Meanwhile, Deadline revealed that "EastEnders" alum Adam Croasdell has been tapped to appear in three episodes of "Reign" season 4.

The report said that the actor will portray the role of Mary's third husband Bothwell. Based on the character description, Bothwell is "deeply loyal, and ultimately deeply in love with Mary Queen of Scots" despite his bad boy reputation.

Aside from the "EastEnders," Croasdell also appeared in an episode in "Once Upon a Time" and "NCIS."

Other reports also announced that Will Kemp will portray the role of Lord Darnley next season. The character is based on Mary's first cousin who will also marry her first before Bothwell. According to Ecumenical News, Darnley will initially show his charm when he and Mary first meet. But his real conceited personal will eventually surface, and it will ultimately cause him his life.

Based on the real-life history of Mary, Queen of Scots, Lord Darnley will be the father of Mary's child. But the child will have no recollection of his father since he died before the baby was born.

The exact release date of "Reign" season 4 is still unannounced, but the series is expected to resume in the midseason line-up of The CW in 2017.
