Mary (Adelaide Kane) must return to Scotland soon, but she needs to come up with a plan to do so in the next episode of "Reign" season 3.

The situation in her home country is starting to get worse, which is why Mary feels the need to get back to Scotland soon. But returning to her own land to secure her throne could cause a lot of problems, which is why she needs to have the support of Bash (Torrance Coombs) and build her own army.

In an interview with Yahoo TV, Kane revealed that her character's return to Scotland will introduce an entirely new plot for the show.

"It's exciting. It's still got the same vibe, but we have brand-new sets that are amazing. We have some really incredible new locations when we were at Ireland shooting exterior stuff for the next couple of episodes," the actress said. "We've also completely revamped Mary's wardrobe, too, to keep more with Scotland's climate."

Kane also mentioned that Mary will start thinking about finding a potential suitor again once she is already settled in Scotland. In the interview, the actress revealed that Mary will encounter appropriate and inappropriate suitors in her hometown. But she will eventually meet her future husband in her own country.

But the actress admitted that once Mary arrives in Scotland, the plot of the show will get darker compared to her time at the French court.

"I think the show is definitely going to take a darker turn. I'd like to think that we'll still maintain our sense of humor, though [laughs]," Kane stated.

The upcoming episode will also show that Queen Elizabeth of England (Rachel Skarsten) will appoint Lola (Anna Popplewell) to look for more information about her mother. But things will get out of hand when Lola's plans get exposed.
