After portraying the role of Velkan in "Van Helsing," Will Kemp is joining the cast of "Reign" Season 4 to play one of the Queen's suitors.

According to Deadline, Kemp will play Lord Darnley, a new noble suitor of Queen Mary Stuart (Adelaide Kane), who is also portraying the latter's cousin.

Queen Mary is expected to have a lot of suitors vying for her heart in season 4. After losing her first husband and a brief romance to French Court's English Ambassador Gideon, viewers are curious on what the future holds for Mary, the Queen of Scots along with the rest of her friends and enemies.

In the upcoming season, Darnley is reportedly characterized as a "breezily confident, charming and warm" man. He also has a blood claim to the English throne, and his mother's love for him solely relies on his ability to secure the crown.

Kemp's role as Mary's cousin is based on the real Lord Darnley who became Mary's second husband in real life.

The British actor is set to appear in three episodes only, but he has the option to extend his stay as a series regular.

Meanwhile, Torrance Coombs who portrays Bash in the show recently moved to another period drama produced by Shonda Rhimes titled "Still Star-Crossed."

Although no longer a regular in season 4, the actor expressed his interest in going back sometime in the future.

"It's very strange. You know, they are all wonderful friends of mine... It's really weird to not be going back and then to see the behind the scenes pictures and I'm not there," Coombs spoke to Showbiz Junkies.

"I'm hoping that I get to go back and do a little bit more this season. But, that's to be determined I guess."

"Reign's" third season is still a few days away from the finale.

The CW has yet to announce an official premiere date for "Reign" season 4.
