Relient K to Release First-Ever Full Length Christmas Album

|PIC1|Relient K will release their first-ever, full-length Christmas album Let It Snow, Baby...Let It Reindeer.

The album, scheduled for release by Capitol Music Group/Gotee Records on 23 October, features Relient K's take on 10 holiday classics and six original songs.

From the glory of "Handel's Messiah" and "Angels We Have Heard On High" to the goofiness of the 1950s novelty song "I'm Gettin' Nuttin' For Christmas" and "Santa Clause Is Thumbing To Town", the album captures the many sides of the season.

The collection, which was produced by Mark Lee Townsend and Relient K vocalist, Matt Thiessen, has elation ("I Celebrate The Day") and depression ("I Hate Christmas Parties"), nods to Boxing Day and New Year's Eve ("Auld Lang Syne" - with a new ending) and lots of old-fashioned fun along the way ("Deck The Halls", "12 Days of Christmas", "Sleigh Ride", "We Wish You A Merry Christmas", to name a few).

Relient K's Five Score And Seven Years Ago debuted at #6 on the US' Billboard 200 earlier this year, becoming the band's highest charting album to date and receiving rave reviews.

"Five Score features irresistible pop-punk hooks and glorious Beach Boys-style harmonies, all building to an 11-minute mini-rock opera that recalls - and equals - The Who's 'A Quick One While He's Away,'" said USA Today while Alternative Press praised the album's "radio-ready power pop goodness".

The band will launch a co-headlining US tour with Switchfoot on 16 October.
