Manga author Yayoiso recently announced the conclusion to the hit manga series "ReLIFE," which generated quite a following since its initial run in 2013.The manga has since published seven volumes through Earth Star entertainment and an anime series which aired on July 2, 2016. A live-action adaptation was released in 2017.

Despite the popularity of the manga and anime, "ReLIFE" never got a second season which prompted a lot of questions from the fans. After almost a year of waiting, however, an announcement regarding the continuation of the anime was announced, but the information provided was a bit far from what people were expecting.

Yayoiso announced that the series will be ending in March 2018, and the anime adaptation will have a four-episode special to finish where the first season left off.

This drew mixed reaction from the fans as many of them believe that a march ending will leave the manga series with more or less 10 chapters to tie up the loose ends of the story, and four episodes seem hardly enough to cram all of the remaining elements of the manga's storyline into the anime.

"ReLIFE" follows the story of 27-year-old Kaizaki Arata, who struggles to find work after staining his employment record in his previous job. Dejected and close to despair, he meets with Ryo Yoake, a mysterious person who offers him an opportunity to "redo his life" in the form of a blue pill.

He is then told that once he takes the pill, he will be part of the ReLIFE project: a scientific experiment designed to help other people relive their youth and from there determine the things they did wrong that severely impacted their future. Kaizaki accepts the offer then embarks on his new/old life.

The four-episode finale will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on March 21, 2018. and will stream exclusively on Amazon Prime Video in Japan.
