Months ago, Renee Zellweger's photos went viral online. Many could not believe the huge difference in her physical appearance, which many speculate is due to enhancements allegedly done to change her facial features.  And, of course, the negative comments and bashing were — and are — very present, too. 

On the other hand, not everyone joined the bandwagon of poking fun at Zellweger's new look. One of them is girl pal Reese Witherspoon. At the annual actress round-table of The Hollywood Reporter, Witherspoon commented on the face-shaming issue involving her friend. 

"It's horrible. It's cruel and rude and disrespectful, and I can go on and on and on. It bothers me immensely... I know this is so Pollyanna of me, but why — and it's particularly women — why do they have to tear women down? And why do we have to tear other women down to build another woman up? It drives me crazy. Like, this one looks great without her makeup but that one doesn't look good without her makeup, and it's all just a judgment and assault that I don't — look, men are prey to it as well. I just don't think it's with the same sort of ferocity," Witherspoon said. 

How sweet Witherspoon is to stick up for her friend and for women out there. However, Zellweger is having a sweeter time now that she has sold her house in The Hamptons way above asking price. It seems like all the buzz about her paid off big time. 

According to the New York Post, her mansion at 30 Egypt Lane was listed at $4.45 million, but she was able to sell it $250,000 above that price. The mansion was placed on the market last month and Zellweger opted to keep her ownership anonymous. Instead, the listing was under Bruce Weber, her photographer friend. 

Later, the word was out that it was indeed the "Bridget Jones's Diary" actress who was selling the house. That's when the bidding war got intense and skyrocketed. 

The mansion is actually a 2,000-square-foot renovated farmhouse. It has four bedrooms, four baths and a heated pool. Zellweger was able to buy it for only $2.15 million back in 2003.
