Capcom revealed "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" during this year's E3 and also released a playable demo which showcases the gameplay but is not an official part of the final build of the game. According to a report from Destructoid, the teaser also gives a clue on when the HD remake of "Resident Evil 2" will be released.

According to the report, an image was posted on Reddit showcasing a series of numbers that appear during the loading screen of the teaser trailer. An analysis of the video reveals that these numbers are the SLUS catalog number for the original "Resident Evil: Director's Cut" for the Playstation 1.

This version of "Resident Evil" also came with a demo for "Resident Evil 2." It is further noted that there was a different retail of "Resident Evil: Director's Cut" that did not come with a demo and this version had a different SLUS code. 

Given how the SLUS code for the version of the old "Resident Evil: Director's Cut" was included in the teaser trailer, it is speculated that "Resident Evil 7" will come a demo of the "Resident Evil 2 Remake." However, the report also points out that it is possible this is merely an elaborate Easter egg. 

However, many fans speculate that this information might be wrong given how "Resident Evil 2 Remake" was unveiled first. It is speculated that the remake of the older game will launch first, potentially around this October, a few months before "Resident Evil 7" launches the next year.

"Resident Evil 2 Remake" will tell the story of Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield as they attempt to escape Raccoon City. "Resident Evil 7" takes place after the sixth title in the franchise although it will use a first-person perspective and none of the main characters from previous games will make an appearance. 

"Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" is scheduled to be released for PC, PS4 and Xbox One on Jan. 24, 2017, potentially with a demo for "Resident Evil 2 Remake."
