With "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" still a bit far off from being released, but a new trailer has been shown which gives the fans an idea of how the combat system works. The game's protagonist Ethan is shown fighting off a member of the Baker family using a pistol. Of course, the result of the combat is horrifying indeed, and can only be considered as something that the "Resident Evil" franchise has always offered players.

According to Game Rant, the game — despite being revealed by Capcom — is still mysterious in all manner of ways, especially when it comes to the enigmatic Baker family. The good thing about the game company, however, is that they are always releasing news trailers to tease fans of the survival horror franchise.

The videos always feature bits and pieces of what the game has to offer. As such, the latest one shows some of the game's combat features used against a member of the Baker family.

This trailer — which is the sixth of the series — is called "The Immortal," which is fitting considering its content. It features a scene where the protagonist, Ethan, is attacked several times by Jack Baker, the head of the cannibal family, with the former already sustaining severe wounds.

Jack does not seem to be fazed by Ethan's first shot, but just before the cannibal delivers the death blow, Ethan fires off another round, killing his assailant. Or rather, Ethan's second shot just knocks him unconscious since after a few seconds Jack gets up, unharmed and much agitated than before.

According to Games Radar, this suggest that a certain mechanic will allow a handful of enemies to be taken down but not outright killed. One of the most iconic villains in "Resident Evil" that has this mechanic is Nemesis, who, after a few seconds of down time, will get up and continue pursuing the player.
