'Resident Evil 7' release date news: Capcom reveals healing items; Pre-order bonuses include exclusive items

 Capcom

"Resident Evil 7" has continued to give off a more mysterious vibe, but with Capcom revealing the game's healing items, it raises more questions than answers.

According to Game Rant, Capcom messaged the members of their "Resident Evil" Ambassador program. The content of this message includes an image that offered fans a "first look" at the game's healing items. This picture depicts the iconic green herbs, as well as two bottles of green ointment that seemed to be made from the herbs.

Additionally, the image also includes a nondescript coin among the other healing items. It might be easy to dismiss, since it looks pretty normal, but the caption that came with the image reads "oh wait, what's that coin doing there?" With this, Capcom is trying to tell its fans that the coin may be of significance, and that fans are encouraged to speculate about its usage.

In fact, it is the first time a coin will be of use as a "healing item" in a "Resident Evil" game series. It is quite perplexing how a coin could exactly improve a person's well-being, especially if all its previous installments had zombie attacks as the primary source of damage.

Meanwhile, "Resident Evil 4" will also be released for the PS4 and Xbox One by the end of this month. According to Tech Times, this move is believed to be the last in Capcom's efforts of bring in the modern "Resident Evil" games for the next-generation consoles. This release is noteworthy, as this game was often considered to be the most popular among the series.

"Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" will be released on Jan. 24, 2017 as a single-player survival horror game. It will be priced at $60, and those who pre-order the game for the PS4 will additional special items as well as a custom theme. The Standard and Deluxe editions of the game will only be available for preorder for a limited time.
